Welcome to the evidence locker. On this page we are going to present to you some answers to your questions. Most of the answers will be in the form of links- but if you've come this far, it must be that you are interested in the pursuit of truth and that means that you are the sort who seeks out answers. |
Was the whole world flooded, just as the Bible says? |
The Bible's record of God flooding the whole world is primarily found in Genesis 6-9. Secondary passages include Job 12:15, Isaiah 54:9, Matthew 24:39, Luke 17:27, 2 Peter 2:5, 2 Peter 3:6. F.Y.I. Every ancient culture has worldwide flood stories. F.Y.I. The majority of the earth is covered in sedimentary rock (which is only formed in connection with water) This serves as a major clue to the Bible's truthfulness on the subject. Does God exist? |
Design, order, the laws of thermodynamics, the complexity of everything, the fact that everything living thing comes with fully programmed cells and DNA--all these things point to the existence of an all powerful, all knowing, God. When you ask the question: How did I come to be? Evolution, cosmic accident, random mutations are not good answers. There is no evidence for Darwin's theory of evolution-- besides that, it's demeaning, leads to anarchy, selfishness, and all manner of lawlessness (Just think about the consequences of really believing in the survival of the fittest. Think also about the ultimate end of believing their is no God and ultimately no meaning to life. It's depressing. It's what drove Neizte mad and to suicide) If you want a good book to read as it regards God's existence, read the Bible book of Esther. God's name isn't mentioned once. The neat thing about the book of Esther is the piling up of what our society likes to call "coincidences". Read the book with all of it's "coincidences" and then ask yourself "coincidence" or God. If you want another good to read as it regards God's existence, check out the Bible book called Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes was written by a really rich and powerful guy named King Solomon. He had it all-- money, power, women, brains-- yet he came to the conclusion that without God, everything was meaningless. There are lots of great philosophical arguments for God's existence, but at the end of the day, even if you deny God exists with your mouth, deep in your heart and mind- you know he exists. The reason people deny God's existence is because they don't like being told what to do or how to live. |
